wooooots!! got my rural placements yesterday!! and i'm goign to Warrugul!!! yay!!! (: from 30july to 2aug!! it will be fun. somehow, i really am quite enjoying this course... the variation in the way they teach and present stuff to you.... fantastic!! and absolutely no regrets in coming to Monash to do medicine!! (: wooots!

just came back fm my clinical site visit at Bourke Rd Medical Centre... just a small clinic with 2 doctors. followed GP Dr Welner ard.... she's such a nice person. i was allowed to participate in everything she did. watch her do wart disinfection where she brought me to her chamber where she kept the nitric oxide... cool! then saw the way she scraped the warts and treat it with NO. wow... then we had a patient w kidney failure. and one w diabetes... sure had some good fun understanding the patients as well as watching how the doctor interact w them and treat them. she also explained to me several of the problems and the medical reasons behind them...
like wad she was doing to kill the warts and all. sure makes everything much clearer now. (:

being a tutor at Monash uni for one of our themes, she knew v clearly wad we were learning.. which was good. cos as long as there was sth relevant for me... she expalin them to me even though the patient was there. then she selected an elderly couple for me to interview... and gave me a proper room w desk and all.!!! sure was fun cos yea... taking a medical history is just much more than wad they teach at sch... and yea... there's definitely more problems faced than expected.. like thick accent and all.. but basically it was all good cos i got everything correct when the pt actually saw Dr Welner. cool!!

then Dr Welner also allowed me to view a pap smear test and it's procedures.... and she also felt for a cyst ... so cool... i never knew it was done like tt!!

oh well... sure beats the normal GP stuff back home. when i used to work at the clinic, nothing interesting really happened and ppl were more tensed and din want to talk. and it was always the normal flu and cold... today really was sth different. wished i had stayed longer but she was runnign late alr... and had a whole long queue of pts outside... alright... gotta scram... (:

hope Warrugal will be much more fun!! (: yay!!!!
